About capacity, weight, and size descriptions
Product size, weight, and capacity may slightly vary due to material characteristics and other conditions during production. We appreciate your understanding in advance.
Capacity
[Notation method]
- Applicable products: Notations are provided for luggage (suitcases, carry bags) and some other products only.
- Measurement unit: L (liter)
- About expandable luggage
For expandable products for which their depth can be adjusted by opening and closing the zipper, the capacity notations are separated by a / (slash) and indicated as normal/expanded or normal (expanded).
Example: 13/17 L *If only one figure is shown, it is the capacity when expanded.
[Measurement method]
- Only the space for normal use is subject to measurement.
- For products with pockets, etc., the space inside the pockets is also considered as part of the capacity.
- The maintenance zippers provided for repair purposes or the like is not intended to be opened during normal use, and the space behind the zippers is not included in the capacity.
Weight
[Luggage (suitcases, carry bags)] Weight unit: kilograms (kg)
- Resin products such as suitcases vary in weight due to different components depending on the color. Also, the weight of the product vary depending on the environmental conditions at the time of manufacture, such as the temperature at the time of molding.
- The fabric, leather, and core materials used in carry-on bags vary from bag to bag, so the weight may vary.
- Weight does not include removable accessories (such as instruction manuals, hangers, luggage tags, and padlocks).
[General bags] Weight unit: g (grams)
- The fabrics, leather, and core materials used in bags vary, and their weights will vary.
- Weight does not include removable accessories (such as instruction manuals, shoulder straps, charms, and padlocks).
- Weight is indicated for certain products only.
Size
■Size indication: cm (centimeters)
- The length of each of the three dimensions of the body of the product is measured and indicated.
- Plastic products such as suitcases and sewn products such as carry bags and general bags may have slight individual differences in size.
[Luggage (suitcases, carry bags)]
- External dimensions of luggage (suitcases and carry bags) are indicated in the order of H (height) x W (width) x D (depth).
- The external dimension is the outermost dimensions, including casters, handles, and other protruding parts.
- If not specified as either body or external dimension, external dimension is indicated.
- For horizontal luggage, external dimensions are shown in the order of W (width) x H (height) x D (depth).
- For expandable products for which their depth can be adjusted by opening and closing the zipper, the depth (gusset width) is separated by a / (slash) and indicated as normal/expanded or as normal (expanded) with the value when expanded shown in parentheses.
Example: W40 x H28 x D13/18 cm or W40 x H28 x D13 (18) cm *If only one figure is shown, it is the depth when expanded.
- Fractions less than 1 cm are rounded up.
[General Bags]
- The body size of general bags is indicated in the order of W (width) x H (height) x D (depth).
- External pockets, etc. are not included in the body size.
- For expandable products for which their depth can be adjusted by opening and closing the zipper, the depth (gusset width) is separated by a / (slash) and indicated as normal/expanded or as normal (expanded) with the value when expanded shown in parentheses.
Example: W40 × H28 × D13/18 cm or W40 × H28 × D13 (18) cm *If only one figure is shown, it is the depth when expanded.
- Products with a depth of less than 1 cm, such as backpacks, are indicated as W (width) × H (height).
- Fractions less than 1 cm are rounded down.
Wallets and leather goods
- Wallets and leather goods are indicated in the order of W (width) × H (height) × D (depth).
- Products with a depth of less than 1 cm are indicated as W (width) × H (height).
[Measurement method]
- All products are measured using finished products.
- For external dimensions of suitcases and carry bags, measurements are taken with a stadiometer or equivalent instrument.
- Measurements are taken by placing products on a horizontal floor and against a vertical wall and measuring up to the protruding edges for each of the three dimensions by holding an object with a right angle such as a triangle ruler against the wall.
General bags are measured at the longest part of the body, not including handles, shoulder straps, external pockets, etc.
- Fractions of less than 1 cm are rounded up for suitcases and carry bags, and fractions of less than 1 cm are rounded down for general bags in order to indicate values that are not disadvantageous to our customers.
- In the case of Ace Online Store, online stores in e-commerce malls such as Rakuten, or other online stores where the sellers have their indication rules, the method and order of notation will be adjusted based on the measurements taken according to the method described above.
Storage capacity
[Compatible inch sizes for PC storage pocket]
The size of laptop PCs that can be stored in the pocket is indicated in inches according to the PC manufacturers' indications.
The sizes (in inches and millimeters) Ace has established as its own standards (reference storage dimensions) are as follows.
| For Laptops | For Tablets |
|---|---|
| 13.3 inches W310 × H220 × D25 | 8.0 inches W140 × H200 × D10 |
| 14.0 inches W330 × H240 × D25 | 10.1 inches W170 × H245 × D10 |
| 15.0 inches W360 × H250 × D27 | 11.0 inches W200 × H260 × D10 |
| 15.6 inches W385 × H265 × D27 |
- Please note that a 15.6-inch PC may fit in the 15-inch bag even though it is labeled 15 inches. We recommend you use the above as a guide only and take the measurements of your PC or actually insert the PC into the pocket.
- Actual PCs have different shapes and sizes, such as round corners, depending on the manufacturer, and thicknesses vary depending on measurement points, even if they are all indicated the same in inches.
[Compatible paper sizes that can fit in the bag]
The paper size and file size are indicated as a guide to the size that can fit in the main compartment of the bag.
- Paper size: paper size based on JIS standard
- File size: general flat file size (reference storage dimensions)
| Paper size (JIS standard) |
File size |
|---|---|
| B5 size 257 × 182 | B5 file 273 × 198 |
| A4 size 297 × 210 | A4 file 313 × 231 |
| B4 size 364 × 257 | B4 file 380 × 273 |
| A3 size 420 × 297 | A3 file 436 × 313 |
- File dimensions are Ace's own standards (reference storage dimensions). They are calculated from the general flat file sizes of stationery manufacturers (see photo) and are not compatible with all files.
- Even if a bag meets the paper size standard in terms of its body size, it may be indicated as one size smaller in such cases as when the bag has round corners.
